Shift Assignments¶
Shift Assignments record which resource is assigned to which shift, on a given date, and optionally against a specific Work Order.
Accessing Shift Assignments¶
Open the Resource Management sidebar and select Shift Assignments.
Creating an assignment¶
Click New Assignment and fill in:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Resource | Required |
| Shift | Required — your organisation's configured shifts |
| Date | Required |
| Work Order | Optional — link this assignment to a specific Work Order |
The assignment list shows each entry's resource, shift, date, and linked Work Order (if any). Use the row's Delete action to remove an assignment.
Tip
Leaving Work Order unset means the resource is assigned to the shift generally, without being tied to a specific order.
Roster calendar¶
Use the List / Calendar toggle above the assignment list to switch views. The calendar shows a month at a time, with each day marked by how many people are on each shift — for example "Morning: 3".
Select a day to see its detail: who is on which shift, and the Work Order each assignment is linked to.
Job card work on the calendar¶
Days that have Job Card work booked against them are marked as well, and selecting the day lists each shift entry with its shift, who performed it, its Work Order, and whether that shift has been signed off.
This gives you both halves of the picture on one grid: the roster answers who is on which shift, and the job card entries answer what work is actually booked to that shift.
Note
The calendar shows the job card work you have access to — cards you're assigned to as maker, checker, approver, shift supervisor, or as someone rostered onto one of their shifts. Engineers see all of it.
