Adding an EtherNet/IP Device¶
An EtherNet/IP Device represents a single controller (e.g. a ControlLogix or CompactLogix PLC) that Enture reads over EtherNet/IP (CIP). All EtherNet/IP parameters (tags) you want to read from that controller are added as children of this device.
Before you begin¶
- A Workspace must already exist for the device to be assigned to.
- You need the controller's IP address and port.
- You need Engineer access to create devices.
Steps¶
1. Open the Devices section¶
In the left sidebar, go to Digital Twin → Devices.
2. Click Create EtherNet/IP Device¶
Click the + button and select Create EtherNet/IP Device. The creation form opens.
3. Fill in the device details¶
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Workspace | The workspace this device belongs to |
| Name | A descriptive name for this device (e.g. Packaging Line PLC) |
| IP Address | The controller's IP address, reachable from the edge device |

- Open the device and click Edit.
