Shift Mapping¶
Shift Mapping sets which one shift your organisation's OEE features are measured against. Every shift picker across OEE — the Summary, Downtime Log, Production Entry, Machine Production Planner, and its CSV upload — shows this one mapped shift, pre-selected automatically, rather than a full list of every shift your organisation has set up.
Setting this up is an engineer's job, and it's a one-time setting per organisation.
Why only one shift?¶
OEE needs one unambiguous answer to "which shift are we measuring against" — if every page offered the full list of shifts, two people could end up logging the same machine's output against two different shifts for the same moment in time, and the figures would silently stop meaning the same thing.
If your organisation runs several shifts, map whichever one OEE should be measured against. If that shift is itself made up of more than one row — see A shift can have more than one row — every row picker across OEE (the Summary's Shift Row, the Reconcile forms, the Machine Production Planner) draws from this same mapped shift's rows automatically; there is nothing further to map for the rows themselves.
Setting the mapped shift¶
- Open Shift Mapping under OEE's Configuration section.
- Choose a shift from the Main Shift list.
- Click Save.
Your organisation can have at most one mapped shift at a time — choosing a new one replaces the old mapping, it doesn't add a second.
Removing the mapping¶
Click Remove Mapping to clear it entirely. With nothing mapped, every Shift picker across OEE has nothing to show, and the Machine Production Planner's CSV upload can't be used until a shift is mapped again.
