Sections¶
The Sections page shows how energy consumption is distributed across your configured utilization sections — logical groupings of machines such as a production area, a utilities room, or a compressor hall.
Selecting a period¶
Use the period pills to choose the time range:
| Pill | Period covered |
|---|---|
| Last 30 days | The most recent 30 days (default on page load) |
| Last 3 months | From the start of the month three months ago to today |
| Custom | Any date range you specify |
The page loads automatically with the last 30 days when you open it. Selecting a different preset refreshes the data immediately. Selecting Custom shows date pickers and an Apply button.
Section consumption share pie chart¶
At the top of the results, a donut pie chart shows each section's percentage share of total consumption for the period. This makes it immediately clear which areas of your plant are the heaviest consumers. Hover over a slice to see the exact kWh figure.
Section consumption bar chart¶
A horizontal bar chart alongside the pie shows one bar per section, ranked from highest to lowest consumption. The bar length represents the absolute kWh value. Together with the pie chart, this gives you both relative and absolute views of your section energy distribution at a glance.
Section detail table¶
Below the charts, the table lists every section. Click any row to expand it and see the machines within that section, along with their individual energy data.
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Section | The section name |
| Consumption (kWh) | Total energy attributed to this section for the period (share-weighted) |
| Share (%) | This section's percentage of total org consumption |
Drilling into a section¶
When you expand a section row, two things appear:
Machine consumption pie¶
A donut chart shows how each machine within the section contributes to the section's total active energy consumption. This helps you immediately identify the dominant consumer within a section.
Machine list with key parameters¶
Each machine in the section is listed. Click a machine row to expand its Key Parameters panel:
| Parameter | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Active Energy | Cumulative energy consumption |
| Active Power | Real power being drawn right now |
| Peak Demand | The highest demand in the current window |
| Apparent Power | Total power (kVA) |
| Power Factor | Ratio of active to apparent power (0–1) |
Each tile shows the latest value and a mini sparkline of the last 24 hours. Clicking a tile opens a full trend chart for that parameter on that machine.
Understanding share weights¶
A machine's full consumption is not always 100% attributed to a single section. When a machine serves multiple purposes, or when only part of its energy is relevant to a section, an engineer can assign a share between 0 and 1 when mapping the machine to the section.
Example: A pump that serves both a production section and a utilities section might be assigned a share of 0.6 to production and 0.4 to utilities. The section consumption figure reflects these proportions — the pump's total usage is split accordingly.
The machine's share is shown in the section expansion panel next to its name.
Info
If you notice section totals are lower than you expect, check whether any machines have been assigned a share below 1. This is intentional configuration, not missing data. See Configuration for how to view and adjust shares.
No sections configured¶
If the page shows no data, your facility's utilization sections have not been set up yet. Ask an engineer to configure them under Configuration → Sections Setup.
