OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) is a key performance metric used in manufacturing to evaluate how effectively a production system converts planned production time into valuable output. It combines three core factors — Availability, Performance, and Quality — to provide a comprehensive view of production efficiency.
OEE Formula
Component Formulas
- Availability =
(Actual Operating Time) / (Planned Production Time)
- Performance =
(Ideal Cycle Time × Total Count) / Operating Time
- Quality =
(Good Count) / (Total Count)
OEE Benchmarks
- 100% OEE = Perfect Production
- 85% OEE = World Class
- 60% OEE = Typical
- < 40% OEE = Low
Production Planner
The Production Planner is used to schedule and manage machine operations for a selected time frame, shift, and machine.
Configuration of OEE
To configure and display OEE, follow these steps:
- Choose “OEE” from the left-side panel.
- Click the ‘Plus’ icon on the top-right corner of the page.
- A form will appear, as shown below.

Fill out the form:
- Shift: Select shift (e.g., A, B)
- From: Source or type
- Machine: Choose the relevant machine
- Date: Select the production date
- Production Time (Minutes): Total available time
- Ideal Cycle Time (Minutes): Ideal production time per cycle
📌 Click Submit to save the plan.
Once added, plans will appear in the list, and the OEE calculations can use this input.
After submitting production plans, OEE can now be tracked more accurately.
Display of OEE
