SLD View Toolbar¶
The SLD View toolbar provides quick access to all the tools you need to create and manage your diagrams. The toolbar appears at the top of the canvas when in Edit mode.
Toolbar Layout¶
The toolbar is organized into functional groups from left to right:

Element Tools¶
Shapes Dropdown¶
Click the Shapes button to open a dropdown grid displaying all available industrial symbols.
How to add a shape: 1. Click the Shapes dropdown 2. Browse the available symbols in the grid 3. Click on a symbol to add it to your canvas 4. The shape appears at the default position and can be dragged to your desired location
Lines Dropdown¶
Click the Lines button to select a line type for drawing connections.
Available line types: - Solid Line: A continuous line for standard connections - Dotted Line: A dashed line for secondary or optional connections - Arrow Line: A line with an arrowhead to indicate direction or flow
How to draw a line: 1. Select the desired line type from the dropdown 2. The selected type is highlighted to show it's active 3. Click on the canvas to place the line 4. Drag the line endpoints to position them
Text Popover¶
Click the Text button to open the text configuration popover.
Text types available: - Static Text: Fixed labels that don't change - Realtime Data (RTD): Displays live parameter values - Realtime Consumption (RTC): Displays live consumption metrics - Usage: Shows aggregated data (MTD, YTD, etc.)
How to add text: 1. Click the Text button to open the popover 2. Select the text type 3. For realtime types, select a parameter from the dropdown 4. Configure size and color as needed 5. Click Add to place the text on the canvas
Image Button¶
Click the Image button to upload and add custom images to your diagram.
Supported formats: PNG, JPG, SVG, and other common image formats
How to add an image: 1. Click the Image button 2. Select an image file from your computer 3. The image is added to the canvas 4. Drag to reposition and use the context menu to resize
View Controls¶
Zoom Popover¶
Access zoom controls to adjust your view of the canvas.
Zoom options: - Zoom slider: Fine-tune the zoom level - Preset buttons: Quick zoom to common levels (50%, 100%, 150%, etc.) - Fit to screen: Adjust zoom to show the entire diagram
Pan Controls¶
Adjust the horizontal and vertical scroll position of the canvas.
- Horizontal scroll: Move the view left or right
- Vertical scroll: Move the view up or down
Action Buttons¶
Export¶
Save your diagram as a file for backup or sharing.
Import¶
Load a previously exported diagram file.
Clear Canvas¶
Remove all elements from the canvas to start fresh.
Warning: This action cannot be undone. Make sure to save your work before clearing.
Save Controls¶
Located on the right side of the toolbar.
Save Button¶
Click Save to persist all your changes to the server. Your diagram will be stored and available the next time you open the view.
Discard Button¶
Click Discard to abandon all unsaved changes and revert to the last saved state.
Note: Discarding changes cannot be undone. Any modifications since the last save will be lost.

Tips¶
- The toolbar is only visible in Edit mode. Switch to View mode to see your diagram without editing controls.
- Hover over toolbar buttons to see tooltips describing their function.
- Use the View controls to navigate large diagrams without accidentally moving elements.
